After concluding his tenure at Direct Campaign Solutions, Paul J. Pelletier took a more hands-on position as an officer in the US Navy Reserve. Paul Pelletier, a reserve officer, was mobilized to the Middle East to support the government’s efforts in Iraq. Paul Pelletier was eventually named a lieutenant and questions arose about Lt. Pelletier wearing a rank he had not been officially awarded; however, Naval officials were unable to provide evidence that such actions took place, and the charges against Lt. Paul Pelletier were dropped. At the request of Congressional leaders, an investigation is currently being conducted by the Navy Inspector General’s office as to abuse by senior officer’s against LT Pelletier.
Though he was only in the U.S. Navy Reserve for a short time, former LT Paul Pelletier left behind a legacy of notable achievements. Paul J. Pelletier, who began his Naval Reserve career as the Acting Director of Community Affairs from January 2005 to December 2006 at The Pentagon — to fill the shoes of a senior officer who was deployed to Iraq. In his new position as Acting Director of Community Affairs, Lt. Paul Pelletier served on the Navy’s Joint Task Force Inaugural Committee, instituted and processed all government and civilian requests to the Navy Office of Community Affairs, as well as provided daily communication briefs to the Chief of Information and Chief of Naval Operations.
Due to his dedication, LT Pelletier was called upon to serve his country during the Global War on Terrorism and was deployed to Baghdad, Iraq. Lt. Paul Pelletier supported the United States’ Operation Iraqi Freedom efforts by assisting in governance operations, including the elections education of new governments in Iraq. Lt. Paul Pelletier was also in charge of organizing educational materials regarding the methods of democratic governance.
